About Patrick Steger
I began my photographic journey in 1972 with a 35mm SLR camera. I learned quickly that I could control the way an image looked and make it look much better than most amateur photographers. Over the following decades, my interest in photography grew as I pursued a career in the high tech industry. Over the years I was encouraged by many friends to turn my "hobby" into a profession. It wasn't until 2002 that I took action and began my professional photography career on a part time basis. From 2002 through 2014 I learned and grew a LOT! In 2014 I retired from my high tech career and in 2015 opened my professional photography business full time.
My "why" is something I discovered after turning professional. When I began, I thought my "why" was to create beautiful photographs, however, I learned my real "why" was to be able to positively impact people's lives. That was something I had been doing throughout my career in the high tech industry. Now I get to do it in a much more emotional way. In my portrait work, I see many smiles as my clients see the images I captured for their family. I also see tears of joy as a parent looks at a family portrait and it is the last family portrait taken prior to one of the children going off to college, or joining the military. So, much like those emotions, I strive for my Fine Art images to evoke emotions for the viewers. The emotions for these images span a wide varity of emotions, for as many reasons as there are people viewing the images.
My disire is that my one or many of my images might remind you of a special place, a special time, a special feeling you had, or just bring back memories that are meaningful for you.
